Green tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant—the same plant used to produce black tea, white tea, and oolong tea.

Caffeine occurs naturally in the tea plant, although the amount that ends up in your cup can vary based on the tea, growing conditions, serving size, water temperature, and brewing time.

Traditional brewed tea generally contains considerably less caffeine than a typical cup of coffee.

How Does Kubo Get 140–155 mg of Caffeine?

In addition to the caffeine naturally present in our tea leaves, Kubo blends are infused with caffeine derived from organic green tea.

That brings our finished blends to approximately:

140 mg caffeine per cup in many of our green-tea-based blends.

155 mg caffeine per cup in many of our black-tea-based blends.
